Barbie stars as Clara, a teenage girl who receives a mysterious but beautiful wooden Nutcracker for a Christmas present from her favourite aunt. Vowing to treasure it, Clara dozes off on the couch while hugging it, and that is when mice invade the parlour and the Nutcracker springs to life. In the midst of the battle, Clara awakes and tries to help, but the leader of the mice troops, the Mouse King shrinks her with an evil spell and the duo are forced to run from the mice into a fantasy world filled with magic. Together, they set off on a fantastic adventure to find the Sugar Plum Princess, the only person with the power to break the enchantment. However, the Mouse King soon finds out about their quest, and after researching the Sugar Plum Princess to be nothing more than “kind, clever and brave” decides that she is no threat and turns his attention to capturing the Nutcracker instead. The Mouse King succeeds through a trap and Clara journeys to his castle with the help of fairies to save them before a final confrontation between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Just as Clara risks her life to protect the Nutcracker, the Nutcracker deflects his spell with his sword blade, and collapses, shrinking the Mouse King to the size of a real mouse. A kiss from Clara revives him, and he is changed back into his princely form and the Mouse King’s spells undone, while Clara is revealed unbeknownst to even herself to be the true Sugar Plum Princess, being “kind, clever and brave”. As they dance, the Mouse King steals Clara’s locket encompassed with magic, and while he is destroyed, Clara disappears and awakes on her couch living room, the Nutcracker missing. Distressed at his loss, her aunt returns from a “morning stroll” along with Prince Eric, introducing him as “the son of a dear friend of mine”.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Examples Animated Films are ones in which individual drawings, paintings, or illustrations are photographed frame by frame stop-frame cinematography. Usually, each frame differs slightly from the one preceding it, giving the illusion of movement when frames are projected in rapid succession at 24 frames per second.
The earliest cinema animation was composed of frame-by-frame, hand-drawn images. When combined with movement, the illustrator’s two-dimensional static art came alive and created pure and imaginative cinematic images – animals and other inanimate objects could become evil villains or heroes. Animations are not a strictly-defined genre category, but rather a film technique, although they often contain genre-like elements.
Animation, fairy tales, and stop-motion films often appeal to children, but it would marginalize animations to view them only as “children’s entertainment. See section on children’s-family films. The inventor of the viewing device called a praxinoscope , French scientist Charles-Emile Reynaud, also created a large-scale system called Theatre Optique which could take a strip of pictures or images and project them onto a screen.
He demonstrated his system in for Paris’ Musee Grevin – it was the first instance of projected animated cartoon films the entire triple-bill showing was called Pantomimes Lumineuses , with three short films that he had produced: The three animated films lasted about minutes each. Depending upon one’s definition of terms, some consider Pauvre Pierrot the oldest-surviving animated film ever made and publically broadcast.
The predecessor of early film animation was the newspaper comic strips of the s. Historically and technically, the first animated film in other words, the earliest animated film ever made on standard motion-picture film was Humorous Phases of Funny Faces by newspaper cartoonist J.
I could download an MP3 in like ten minutes, and sometimes an entire dirty picture would load up before something went buggy and the poor woman was cut off at the knees. And seven out of every ten websites looked like a low-res My Little Pony pony ralphed cotton candy and Four Loko across a small-town church bulletin board. As time passed, we all grew up and became better people with better websites. Dancing baby GIFs gave way to interstitial ads and Flash videos.
Designs that looked like they were made by a guy with vinegar in his eyes working in the dark faded away, and sleek, professionally designed mega porn sites took their place.

Grace had previously worked with Soyuzmultfilm on an animated version of the Welsh folktale cycle, the Mabinogion , and he turned to them again for the Shakespeare project, feeling “if we were going to animate Shakespeare in a thirty-minute format, then we had to go to a country that we knew creatively and artistically could actually deliver. And in my view, frankly, there was only one country that could do it in the style that we wanted, that came at it from a different angle, a country to whom Shakespeare is as important as it is to our own.
This style went with enormous flair and verve and comic panache; but a lot of it was kitsch. Actors were hired to recite abbreviated versions of the plays written by Leon Garfield , who had written a series of prose adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays for children in , Shakespeare Stories. According to Garfield, editing the plays down to thirty minutes whilst maintaining original Shakespearean dialogue was not easy; “lines that are selected have to carry the weight of narrative, and that’s not always easy.
It frequently meant using half a line, and then skipping perhaps twenty lines, and then finding something that would sustain the rhythm but at the same time carry on the story. The most difficult by far were the comedies. In the tragedies, you have a very strong story going straight through, sustained by the protagonist. In the comedies, the structure is much more complex. Screened in dozens of countries, The Animated Tales is Shakespeare as cultural educational television available to all.
During the recording, Garfield himself was present, as was literary advisor, Stanley Wells , as well as the Russian directors.
She is also known as “superwoman”. Lois is Superman’s chief romantic interest and in the DC continuity his wife. She is a journalist for the Metropolis newspaper, The Daily Planet. A Father’s Need He watched as his daughter Suzy bounced into the lounge room, her thin cotton nightgown brushing against her thighs. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, pulling her close as he buried his face against her neck and nibbled on her shoulder. Suzy giggled loudly and twisted on his lap, the feel of her soft bottom rubbing against the front of his pants making him groan.
He placed her sideways across his legs and as his hand moved slowly beneath her nightgown, Suzy parted her thighs like a good girl. Always Daddy’s Girl First, she got custody of Jeannie, our four-year-old daughter, I got one day a month visitation; she got the house, I got the mortgage payments; she got the bank account so that she could provide for our daughter; I lost the technical-writing business I spent six years building. To top it, my once-monthly visits were often “postponed” or “forgotten” when my wife felt that I hadn’t groveled enough.

Alternative Foreign Theme Song: The Italian version has a different opening theme song. Fan speculation often mistook him for a light-skinned African-American, but Word of God says he is Greek and his appearance was based on Telly Savalas , a Greek-American actor. He was given a lighter skin tone in Justice League , probably to rectify confusion like this. The misconception was also probably partially based on the fact that, in addition to a darker skin tone, Lex had noticeably fuller lips than the other white characters.

Valentine’s Day Music Shakuntala and Dushyant The legend of the exquisitely beautiful Shakuntala and the mighty king Dushyant is a thrilling love story from the epic Mahabharata, which the great ancient poet Kalidasa retold in his immortal play ‘Abhijnanashakuntalam’. While on a hunting trip, King Dushyant of the Puru dynasty meets the hermit-girl Shakuntala.
They fall in love with each other at first sight and, in the absence of her father, Shakuntala weds the king in a ceremony of ‘Ghandharva’-a form of marriage by mutual consent with mother Nature as the witness. When the time comes for Dushyant to return to his palace, he promises to send an envoy to escort her to his castle. As a fond remembrance he gives her a signet ring. One day when hermit Durvasa stops at her hut for hospitality, Shakuntala, lost in her love thoughts, fails to hear his calls.
The temperamental sage turns back and curses her: Her father sends her to the royal court for their reunion, as she was pregnant with Dushyant’s child. While travelling, Shakuntala’s signet-ring accidentally drops into the river and gets lost. When Shakuntala presents herself before the king, Dushyant, under the spell of the curse, fails to acknowledge her as his wife.
